Oma Sonia was a Holocaust Survivor who experienced Krystallnacht and the NAzi bombing and occupatin of Warsaw. She escaped to the USA with the help of the HIAS organization. Her painting was therapy, and to forget the traumatic memories, she created uplifting portraits, landscapes and florals with brilliant colors to lift the spirit and calm the soul.
