Oma Sonia Pickens (1920 - 2018) was a Holocaust survivor artist, who came to the USA during WWII. She was a prolific artist of colorful, primitive style paintings, abstracts, and portraits.  Each year, she would create a calendar to give to her friends and family.  She became known as "Oma Sonia" - in homage to Grandma Moses, who also painted landscapes late in her life in the primitive folk style.  Oma means "grandma" in Sonia's native language, and so we called her Oma Sonia!  Today, we continue the tradition, creating the annual calendars with a selection of 12 of Sonia's best art work.  Share and enhoy the gift of art all year long with our 2025 calendar.
